Chimpanzee with a birthday cake

Chimpanzee with a birthday cake. Adorable.

Wow. It just seems like yesterday we were celebrating our six month anniversary and only a few days before that we were actually setting out on this crazy adventure to start our own web company. Well, June 1st saw our first birthday and words simply cannot express how amazing a year it’s been nor how lucky, thankful and delighted we are to have had the opportunity to meet and work with so many great people. It’s incredibly humbling.

Truly, we’ve been blown away by our first year of business. We’ve had the opportunity to work on some fantastic projects for a huge range of clients, everything from small businesses to large corporations, both locally and internationally. It’s been very exciting. Likewise, I’m personally very  proud of the quality of work we’ve produced and the positive feedback we’ve been receiving, both regarding our sites and approach in general, has been hugely rewarding. We’re getting to do what we love and create sites that we’re thrilled with and that’s very, very satisfying.

Of course, nothing is without it’s blemishes and Kong, our web site creator product, is still awaiting beta and unreleased. The delay has been due partly to client work keeping us busy, partly because we’re complete idiots and take the longest, hardest route to solving anything, and partly because we just plain underestimated how long it would take to develop (along with not planning it as comprehensively as we should have). To say that we’ve learnt a lot about product development over the past year would be a huge understatement.

Still, we’re incredibly excited about the potential of Kong and the feedback we’ve been getting from clients so far (we use a version of it as our internal CMS) has been tremendous. We’re going to be pushing it hard over the summer and can’t wait to launch it to the public soon.

Anyway, it’s been a great year and we can’t wait to see what the next one brings. As always, it goes without saying but we couldn’t have done it without the wonderful support from our friends, families, clients, fellow companies and everyone else we’ve met along the way.

Thank you all.
