Here it is, the 8 Gram Gorilla, a rather opinionated, informative and witty (not to mention modest) blog about all things web.

When we first talked about forming Primate we knew we wanted to be more than a digital agency or a SAAS company, we wanted to contribute and comment on things related to the Internet. We’re huge geeks in that sense, obsessed with the online, addicted to the Net, and just like all those other ambitious, fame hungry web nerds out there, we wanted our voices to be heard. So this is us, talking, informing, rambling, commenting.

You’ve also probably picked up that, in our not very subtle way, the title 8 Gram Gorilla is not only linked to our simian inspired company theme but also a play on the “800 pound gorilla” phrase. In a competitive industry dominated by established players, we’re the funky new kids on the block, hungry and eager, desperate to share our combined knowledge and experience with the world. They’re the massive, alpha-male adult silverbacks; we’re the tiny eight gram gorilla fetus. We’re growing fast though and willing to do whatever it takes to survive. If the 800 pound gorilla sleeps wherever it wants, the eight gram gorilla never sleeps at all.

So this blog is an opportunity of us to write – and maybe even podcast should we ever get drunk enough to risk it – about the things we love, live and breathe. Web design, technology, content, search engines, social networking, clients, the highs and lows of starting your own business, our (Gordon’s) obsession with Mad Men… anything web related that tickles our fancy. We reckon you’ll enjoy what we have to say – you might not always agree with it but, well, that’s part of the fun.

And yeah. Grams. Long live the metric system. Guess we’re all radical and European at heart.
